Health Insurance Rebates

All patients covered by private health insurance at Bass Coast Podiatry can claim their treatment rebates through our electronic HICAPS facility on site. You will need to bring your private health insurance card with you in order to use this facility.

Medicare claims

Patients may be eligible for medicare rebated Podiatry care under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program if their GP has provided the following MBS Chronic Disease Management services and forms:

  • A GP Management Plan (GPMP) – item 721 (or review item 732); AND
  • Team Care Arrangements (TCAs) – item 723 (or review item 732)

A Medicare rebate is available for a maximum of five (5) allied health services per patient each calender year (January to December). The stated number of visits is a total number of visits between all allied health practitioners.

If you have been referred by your General Practitioner through the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program, Bass Coast Podiatry will charge its normal consult fees and then electronically claim your rebate through Medicare to be credited to your account the same day. As of November 2017 the difference between our actual standard consult fee and the Medicare rebate is $9.05.

Department of Veterans Affairs

Any patient referred to Bass Coast Podiatry through the Department of veterens affairs will need the appropriate referral (Usually a D904 or written referral) from their General Practitioner.

TAC and Work Safe

Bass Coast Podiatry will see patients referred by their general practitioner or specialist through TAC and Work Safe.
